We have been asked to get feed back for the Proposed School Callender for next year. I have put forward my thoughts but I think this may be a good place to post so you all can send in your thoughts.
Thanks cindy Billings – Co-Chair Hilcrest Parent Council

Provide your input about proposed 2012-2013 school year calendar
The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) is inviting public school communities to submit input regarding proposed dates of professional activity (PA) days and secondary evaluation days as the SCDSB’s School Year Calendar is developed for 2012-2013.
The suggested placement of PA days is intended to maximize meaningful opportunities for teacher inservice and designed to support their endeavours to enhance instruction and improve student achievement.
Public input may be provided by visiting http://www.scdsb.on.ca and clicking the ‘School Year Calendar Input 2012-2013’ link on the homepage. Feedback is invited until Friday, January 13, 2012 to ensure the SCDSB meets School Year Calendar development timelines set by the Ministry of Education.
Information:
Stephen Blake, Superintendent of Education, SCDSB

I’ve also had a chance to talk to Suzanne, who shares our concerns about the safety of the bus loop area, and is taking action to have this design flaw dealt with as soon and as safely as possible.
It has also been recommended to me that parents who share these concerns and want to see the repairs taken care of in a timely manner call and speak to John Dance, the Superintendent of Facilities at the SCDSB.
I can be contacted at gerimoore@live.ca for further conversation about this

Just want to let everyone know that I have put a phone call and email into Suzanne Ley, our area rep on the school board. She has promptly responded and is going to walk the path tonight before the school board meeting. She has also forwarded our concerns onto the appropriate person at the board who may in the future contact me. If anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
